Overview
Rugged, dramatic, and deeply atmospheric, Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s most iconic wildlife landscapes. Located in eastern Rajasthan, the park unfolds across rocky ridges, dry deciduous forests, open scrub, and ancient lakes—each element adding to its unmistakable character.
What sets Ranthambore apart is visibility. The terrain is open, the light is bold, and wildlife often moves in full view. Tigers here are known for their confidence—walking forest tracks, resting near water bodies like Padam Talao and Malik Talao, or emerging from the ruins that dot the landscape. These moments feel raw and unscripted, making every safari intensely memorable.
Ranthambore is also a forest shaped by time. The mighty Ranthambore Fort rises above the park, its stone walls, temples, and watchtowers blending seamlessly into the wild below. Banyan trees, abandoned structures, and quiet lakes create a setting where history and nature coexist without boundaries.
Beyond tigers, the park is home to leopards, sloth bears, hyenas, crocodiles, and a healthy population of deer and antelope. Birdlife thrives around the lakes, adding movement and sound to the stillness of the forest.
A safari in Ranthambore isn’t rushed. It’s about waiting, watching, and feeling the landscape—where silence speaks, ruins whisper stories, and every turn of the track holds the promise of something extraordinary.
Ranthambore National Park, located in eastern Rajasthan, is one of India’s most well-known wildlife destinations. The park is known for its rugged terrain, open landscapes, and strong tiger presence. A safari here takes you through rocky hills, dry forests, open scrub, and old lakes.
What makes Ranthambore special is the visibility. The landscape is fairly open, so animals are often seen in plain sight. For wildlife lovers, this makes every safari more exciting.

Wildlife
Ranthambore offers some of the best chances to see tigers in the wild. They are often spotted walking along forest tracks, resting near water bodies like Padam Talao and Malik Talao, or moving through the ruins inside the park.
The experience feels more direct, as the open terrain allows you to observe animals more clearly. This makes safaris here both exciting and easy to follow.

Namaskar, I am Dr Suneet Raut. Myself and my wife, Dr Susheela visited Kanha National Park, last year, by April 2025. Our close friend, Dr Prakash Babu, called me whether we were interested in doing this safari trip. As we both are nature lovers, and having visited Tadoba and other sanctuaries, were delighted by this call. It was the last week of April. We flew from Mumbai to Jabalpur, then to Kanha sanctuary. I must say, the total experience of those 4 days was WONDERFUL.

Curated Canopy Safaris organised our trip to Kanha National Park in May ’25. The stay was in a serene hotel close to the park with amazing food and courteous staff. We did 1 night safari and 4 day safaris. We could see 4 tigers in 5 safaris. The tour guide and drivers were very alert and had a thorough know-how of the parks. Besides tigers we could spot many deer, wild boars, peacocks and bisons.
