Overview
Panna National Park, nestled in the Vindhyan ranges of Madhya Pradesh, is a landscape where wilderness unfolds in dramatic contrast.
The two core zones are Hinouta and Madla. Spread across roughly 1,500 square kilometres, the park is shaped by rocky plateaus, deep gorges, open grasslands, and dry deciduous forests, all carved and sustained by the timeless flow of the Ken River.
Once pushed to the brink with the loss of its tigers, Panna today stands as one of India’s most remarkable conservation success stories. Carefully planned reintroductions have restored a thriving tiger population, reaffirming the park’s resilience and ecological importance. The forests and riverine tracts support a diverse array of wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, chital, sambar, nilgai, and chinkara.
The Ken River is Panna’s lifeline—its clear waters shelter gharials, mugger crocodiles, and a wealth of aquatic life, while its banks draw animals and birds alike. With over 200 species of birds, including raptors that soar above the cliffs, Panna offers a raw, rugged beauty that feels untamed and elemental.
Wild, resilient, and quietly majestic, Panna is not merely a tiger reserve—it is a living testament to nature’s ability to recover when given the chance.

Namaskar, I am Dr Suneet Raut. Myself and my wife, Dr Susheela visited Kanha National Park, last year, by April 2025. Our close friend, Dr Prakash Babu, called me whether we were interested in doing this safari trip. As we both are nature lovers, and having visited Tadoba and other sanctuaries, were delighted by this call. It was the last week of April. We flew from Mumbai to Jabalpur, then to Kanha sanctuary. I must say, the total experience of those 4 days was WONDERFUL.

Curated Canopy Safaris organised our trip to Kanha National Park in May ’25. The stay was in a serene hotel close to the park with amazing food and courteous staff. We did 1 night safari and 4 day safaris. We could see 4 tigers in 5 safaris. The tour guide and drivers were very alert and had a thorough know-how of the parks. Besides tigers we could spot many deer, wild boars, peacocks and bisons.
